In 2014, 1980 game projects (both digital and tabletop) were successfully crowd funded on Kickstarter, the leading crowdfunding site, for a total of $89.1M. Since Kickstarter launched in 2009, over 18,000 games projects have been funded with almost $400M. How transformative and impactful has crowdfunding been on video games and the game consumer? We asked 400 US PC gamers (most video games projects on crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter and IndieGoGo are PC-based) how many video game crowdfunding projects they backed in the previous 12 months.
